According to his Twitter, new Laker Matt Barnes has been going over the finer points of the triangle offense with his kids. Now, two things came to my mind: one) I bet the Lakers didn’t send Adam Morrison any Power Point presentations or DVDs about the zen of the triangle offense. I think the Lakers just sent Morrison to Venice Beach and hooked him up with Medical Marijuana card and said, “ride those chillwaves on the bench, friendo.”

Perhaps influenced by the start of the new season of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” how will Matt Barnes fit into the Lakers’ version of ‘The Gang’? Last season, Ron Artest seemed like Charlie compared to Kobe Bryant’s Dennis, Gasol’s Mac, and, Derek Fisher/Phil Jackson’s Frank; Artest was the “Wild Card,” but with this upcoming season, will Artest continue to be Charlie or will he move up in the world and become the Mac to Kobe’s Dennis? Will Barnes become the new Charlie or if he fails to perform will the Lakers Nation deem him, Gail the Snail?

Or once again, perhaps, I’m just a little too anxious for the new season to start. Lakers’ training camp starts in five days, apparently.

NBA star Shaquille O’Neal is at the center of an explosive new lawsuit accusing him of computer hacking destroying evidence and indicating that he attempted to frame an employee by planting child pornography on his computer, RadarOnline.com is reporting exclusively.

Here are some of the explosive allegations:

Shaq hacked into the voicemails and phone systems of Darling and Vanessa Lopez, a mistress who is currently suing O’Neal. He deleted Lopez’s messages and changed her password.

O’Neal used his law enforcement contacts, both active and retired, to obtain restricted information about one of his mistresses, Alexis Miller, while he was involved in a legal battle with her.

Shaq threw a personal computer holding much of this evidence in the lake behind his home.

Shaq conspired with active law enforcement as well as ex-members of law enforcement to frame Darling for a criminal offense and destroy any evidence that Darling might have against O’Neal.

This has bullshit written all over it. Apparently ESPN doesn’t realize that once you post something to the Internet, there is no turning back. They can’t kill the story, it’s already out there.

This just goes to further prove that ESPN is taking orders from Lebron’s camp, which we already knew after “The Decision” aired. While their “30 for 30” series is incredible, they’ve crossed the line from journalism to public relations hacks. Some would say they did that a long time ago, and this is just the latest and most glaring example.

This is not what ESPN’s official statement is, but again, we’re not accusing them of lying here—just of having a very broad understanding of “the editorial process.”

Coming on the heels of “The Decision,” the most bizarre University of Phoenix infomercial ever, this looks horrible for ESPN, whose own ombudsman condemned the network’s decision to air the hour-long LeBron interview and the lack of editorial control the network had in dealing with LeBron and his entourage. You know the network values entertainment over journalism, and they know they do, but the pretense just made me feel so much better about the whole thing. Like eating a fried chicken salad and not just the fried chicken, I liked the greenery giving me the illusion of health and balance in my diet.
